Papyrus Font

If there hadn't been all this ridiculous hype about Avatar, I probably would've liked it more. It was entertaining, yeah, but I felt removed the whole time. I also hoped that James Cameron would be a little less blatant. The animals were created by the set up, "What do you get when you cross x with y? Do we have guys who can animate that?" The script was mind-bogglingly simplistic, and the kind of "ethnic story" I would advise Lit. Mag. kids not to write. Alas.

I've been going through the lists of courses required for what majors and minors, and then stumbled upon the Honors courses. I'm filling up a whole sheet of paper with classes I want to take. :( Some of them are hilarious, like:

Honors: Shall We Dance?
Honors: DNA- Friend or Foe?

The other ones, I want all of them! I'm going to be all over those Special Permissions. I'll have to see which teachers will let me sit in on their classes.

GV Strings Concert

From the beginning of the concert, I detached from the room full of people and chairs, and sat amazed by the feats of human achievement. There is no other animal on this planet, or possibly even creature in this universe that creates music with such intricate and beautiful instruments. At some point, humans evolved enough to be physically agile enough to play the violin or harp or piano. Besides that strange affinity for aesthetics that seems more innate than conscious thought. Once humans were capable of making music, the instruments themselves evolved over time to become the standardized medium they are today.

I write good

"It is our pleasure to inform you that because of your superior performance on the English Placement Examination, you are among a very select group of students who have been exempted from the Analytical Reading and Writing requirement. You do not have to take English 0802."

Sweet!

Making this flash video for Gov blows. I don't know how to use the program efficiently.

Can I Make Your Garden Grow?

They gave us M&Ms at prom.
:]

I tried. I strove valiantly against these acrylic nails which bound me to inefficient typing and guitar playing. I sat on my floor listening to TAL for forty minutes while aluminum foil held acetone soaked cotton balls to my finger tips. They feel funny now, but the nails did not come off. Enraged. I cut them down to size. Then I played guitar.

I had a really awesome weekend pretty much straight through all 96 hours. I didn't sleep a lot and despite the free time did not produce anything artful, but I had excellent conversation and was surrounded by people almost the entire time.
